LOVE LETTERS: DO PEOPLE STILL DIG THOSE?
Last week, I was in a discussion with friends of both sex. A few of them were basking in the nostalgia that filled them up as they recounted their experiences as teenagers in romantic affairs. I couldn’t relate because I never had a boyfriend until I was nineteen (you don’t wanna know). So there I was, seated amidst these late twenty/thirty-somethings, trying to visualise the scenario as they spoke. It must have felt good to be a boyfriend or girlfriend to another human, right? Unfortunately for me, I didn’t have a boyfriend who wrote me letters.
Over the years, I would come to realise that I am the kind of person who loves to get love letters because I am quite the awkward romantic. Don’t even start me up on romance movies that leave me in tears at the end of it. The feelings come on really strong and I have to form, “hard guy” so people don’t see that I’m all mushy inside. Love letters are a thing in my dictionary, I mean, why won’t anyone want to receive letters? LOVE letters. I’d let you in on a secret, if you want my attention (even if we fall out later on), write me a letter.

These letters have been capturing minds and hearts of civilisation for centuries. Form and content may have changed, but intent remains the same. Before email, text messages, and Instagram memes, couples in love would communicate through heartfelt handwritten messages. Something about the notion of writing one’s thoughts for another conveys a deep sense of intimacy. While jewellery and diamonds may catch the eye, words written from the heart convey your love in a more intimate way. Hell, we even have such letters in the Old Testament!
Many moons ago, I planned on setting up a handwritten letter outfit where people would write letters and and the outfit took care of the rest. It was such a deal I felt positive about, but when I factored in the resources and operations, I figured it won’t fly in a country like Nigeria. Not with the constant problematic developments we get here. It broke my heart but I got over it. Maybe someday in the near future, far away from here, I’d set it all up pretty well. Does this mean that I sort of an old-timer? Maybe!

There is an innate pleasure in writing and reading a love letter. Hopefully, the nostalgia of giving or receiving them would inspire you to put your feelings down in writing this Valentines. Regardless of how it’s written, your loved one is sure to be smitten to bits with such sweet gesture.
Do you still write love letters? Let’s know how you feel or what you think about them. Till next week, have a great weekend ahead!

ANOTHER DECADE ALREADY?!
Argh! I’ve been away for three months. My bad…
You know how you remind yourself about doing something and end up not doing that thing? Yeah, I’ve been battling that these past months. Hehe

So why did I decide to write again after three months? I realised that I have been alive another TEN YEARS and the decade will end on 12/31/2019! Phew, a whole freaking decade ends with 2019. So many people have been having recounts, nostalgia, epic moments, and whatnots since we entered into December and it’s only right that people feel that way. Actually seeing another decade end is major, major accomplishment. I know a lot of us lost a lover, friend, relative, etc., but you’re still here and you should be grateful for life.
If I was to drive down memory lane and try to think of all I have been able to achieve, I’d say I have achieved some things. We all have achieved something whether big or little and that’s what makes the feeling right because there’s still room to achieve many great things. I remember myself of 10 years ago, I wanted to have finished school and have changed jobs at least, once. Ha ha, little did I know that that wasn’t what the universe had planned for me, but hey, there’s still room for a lot of things.

This is why I write, so I don’t go bonkers. Lol
As this decade comes to an end, there’s going to be a lot of reflecting, what 2020 could have in store for us, the level of achievements we want to attain, the size of the circle of friends we want to maintain, the new hobbies we want to take on, etcetera, etcetera. People are now getting more woke and just want to be the best they can be in order to have a near perfect future for themselves. I mean, we all want what’s best for us and our loved ones. So, yeah! We all should be greatly looking forward at the new year because it’s going to a good year.

While you’re thinking deeply about the new year coming, try to focus on the things in your life that needs improvements, whether it be with friends, family, colleagues, partners, business partners, co-workers and what have you, make it a habit to do and be better. I don’t want to keep boring you with all these talk so I’m going to go now. Hehe

MI PRIMERA ENTRADA DE BLOG
Bienvenido!
How I wish I could really speak Spanish, French, and a bunch of other cool languages. It’s safe to say though, that I can at least read these languages more than I can speak them and that’s some real talent. Welcome once again to my page!

I just downloaded the WordPress app again because I had not been using it at all as I had planned to, I have no idea what has been holding me back from unleashing my writing prowess upon you, amiable reader. I guess this is the right time to be starting, right?
Allow me to introduce myself
My name is Olajiire (Jiire for short, I don’t really like to be called or referred to as ‘Ola’. Sounds weird to me) and I am a serial entrepreneur and a super-duper single mom. Yeah, I’m badass like that *drops mic*

I promise I’m not a chatterbox and also not much of a user of big words. I like a lot of things, but I’m not about to bore you with all of that. I’ll just let things unfold as time goes. Imagine realising that I’m an actual sweetheart, yo!
Born in the era of the last sane generation (man, am I old!), childhood was fun and fulfilling. A little naughtiness here, a tad bit nicety there. You’d never have guessed that I’d grow up to become some sort of loner.
I think I just love privacy and serenity

Sooooooo! There’s not much to discuss for now, but keep it locked down on here. I’d try my best to make you smile before you finish reading my posts. Do have a glorious week ahead and stay out of trouble. For real, stay out of trouble, for your own good.
